Question - After coming to Japan, what is something that surprised you?

Answer - Before coming to Japan, my image of Japan was that everything was like Tokyo. Tall buildings, high technology, and robots everywhere! But I soon learned that isn't the case.

答え - 日本に来る前は、私の日本のイメージは、どこでも東京みたいだと思っていました。高層ビル、最新技術、どこへ行ってもロボットがあると思っていました！しかし、そうではないとすぐ分かりました。

After arriving in Narita, I immediately went to visit my friend in Yonezawa. When I got off the bullet-train, I was shocked! Yonezawa was very different from my image of Japan! No tall buildings, no high technology and no robots! Only a very rural town.

成田に着いた後、米沢に友達に会いに行きました。新幹線を降りた後、とてもショックを受けました！米沢は私の日本のイメージと全く違うものだった！高層ビルもないし、最新技術もないし、ロボットもない、ただ田舎な街でした。

After going to Yonezawa, I realized that Japan had many rural areas as well as big cities. It was nice to visit my friend for a short time, but I was happy to go back to Tokyo... I am a city boy!

米沢に行った後、日本は田舎と都会があると実感しました。米沢の友達に会えてよかったですが、東京に戻って嬉しかった....... やっぱり私はシティボーイだ！
