今日の話は...

Last night I went to a year end party with my students... I really enjoyed it! I love the Japanese custom of going to year end parties, every year I really look forward to going. For yesterday's year end party, we went to a steak restaurant in Kokubuncho. The steak was incredibly delicious!

昨日の夜は、生徒さんと忘年会に行きました。。。とても、とても楽しかった！私は日本の忘年会というの習慣がとても好きで毎年生徒さんと忘年会に行くのを楽しみです。昨日の忘年会は国分町にあるステーキレストランに行きました。ステーキはすご〜く美味しかった！

In Canada, we don't really have a custom of going to year end parties. We don't usually have year end parties with co-workers or fellow members of a team or club. Sometimes we have company Christmas parties, but this depends on the company. For example, 40 or 30 years ago almost all companies held Christmas parites, but because of the weak economy, in the past 20 years or so this custom has almost disappeared. I think this is a shame.

カナダでは忘年会というの習慣はあまりありません。会社の同僚や同じサークルに入っている友達でも忘年会はしません。会社のクリスマスパーティーは時々ありますが会社により違います。例えば40年、30年前などはどこの会社でもクリスマスパーティーがありましたが、ここ最近20年の不況によりクリスマスパーティーの習慣は比較的少なくなりました。それはとても残念な事だと思います。

I want the Japanese custom of year end parties to continue forever! They are necessary for getting rid of the stress we get from our jobs! You can spend a nice time drinking and talking with co-workers and friends. I am already looking forward to next year's year end party season!

日本の忘年会の習慣がずっと続けいていくといいと思っています！普段の仕事でのストレスなどの発散にも必要です！同僚や友達と一緒に飲んで、会話していい時間が過ごせます。来年の忘年会シーズンも楽しみにしています！
